I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NYU Langone Health (New York, NY) in Apr 2012
Interview
Met with HR nurse recruiter after attending an open house held at NYULMC. Then was called by HR and met with the director of my unit for an in person interview. Then was called to HR for an in person benefits overview (I did not negotiate my salary. I regret not doing this. If you have experience try to negotiate because at NYULMC mgmt expects a lot of involvement outside of patient care) and brief cardiac rhythm test.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Director of my unit told me about the current unit and gave me a tour. I met with the director 1 on 1. She asked questions such as: Tell me about the types of patients you currently see and have experience with? Tell me where you see yourself in 5 years? How well do you work with others? Gave me some behavioral questions like: what would you do in a high stress situation or a confrontational situation. Some questions I asked: What are some of the future goals of the unit? What are some projects and quality improvement initiatives currently underway on the unit? How cohesive is the current unit?
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NYU Langone Health (New York, NY) in Mar 2015
Interview
It was very uncomfortable for me. I felt like they were very rushed and I was just part of an assembly line. There people in the Human Resources offices were not very friendly or helpful.
They didn't even want to lend me a pen. Also the office was very hot.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at NYU Langone Health
Interview
Prior to interview I had to complete an online assessment and within a week I was contacted for an interview with a nurse recruiter. After interviewing with NR I met with a nurse manager for a second interview. The entire process was very efficient and everyone that I interacted with was respectful and warm.

Question 1
I was not asked situational questions. I was asked general questions about how I got into nursing and what I liked about the hospital and floor.
