      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at National Debt Relief (New York, NY) in Dec 2018

      Interview

STAY AWAY !! WASTING YOUR TIME !! USING MULTIPLE RECRUITING AGENCIES SIMULTANEOUSLY AND THEN GHOSTING YOU AFTER INTERVIEW !! MY EXPERIENCE: greeted at front desk, had a clipboard shoved in my face and told to sign an acknowledgment that I could be fired for taking time off in first 90 days. Interview number 1: With the recruiting manager who was a top performing sales agent promoted to this critical role within the last year. Interviewer lacked a true sense of purpose and shed no real light on the vision for the WFM role. I had no sense there was an appetite to discuss WFM concepts, strategy and opportunities. Also fairly odd, there was a junior recruiter - literally months out of college - in the tiny office with us as an observer. Her total contributions were a few laughs. Interviews 2 and 3 (same day - they packaged it nicely since I was coming in from out of state): Met with Senior Leaders who would be my peers. Both seemed highly educated and well qualified with a sprinkle of jadedness in their respective roles. Neither was aware that I was recruited and treated me to the "why are you interested and applying question" which felt very disjointed. Appeared that they had limited exposure interviewing a peer role and veered far from anything resembling an interview. The unfortunate by-product is that I went along with that and probably missed several opportunities to illustrate effectively my true value. One of them said to me, " I don't even need to bother asking you technical questions because it's clear you know that from our dialogue already." Looking back, that was either the smoothest kiss-off or softball that I whiffed on. Imagine that, over 15 years in WFM, interviewing for an executive level WFM role and accepting the other person doesn't want to ask me questions - IN AN INTERVIEW!!! Interview 4 (Hiring Manager) -- oh they were busy in a meeting and never bothered to even greet me, introduce themselves or plan to reschedule our interview. CLASSY AND PROFESSIONAL!! So this all took place on a breezy Tuesday in mid-December a week before the Christmas Holiday. One week passes - No contact from the recruiter Two weeks pass - Things happen with time off, end of year work spikes, etc. that can delay these things right? Well, that's always been my experience, so I forgo the two-week rule and hold tight. Week 3 Ok, I have now been contacted by a 3rd party recruiting service -- ABOUT THIS EXACT ROLE -- WTF???!! So I email the recruiter nicely and give him the nice professional nudge via LinkedIn (the only way we had communicated for the last 5 months while recruited me -- yes 5 FRIDGIN MONTHS!!). He gets back immediately, quite impressive. Apologizes and says yes holidays, blah blah blah - - I will get back to you by mid-next week. Week 4 -- As expected NO NEWS AT ALL -- STARTING TO FEEL GHOSTED Week 5 -- Canned two-liner email, from their applicant system -- full email below, "Thank you for taking the time to interview at National Debt Relief for the Head of Workforce Management position. Unfortunately, at this time, we have decided to move forward with other candidates. We wish you the best in your continued job search." "DECIDED TO MOVE FORWARD WITH OTHER CANDIDATES" CLASSY AS FICK !!
