I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at NetApp (Sunnyvale, CA) in Mar 2012
Interview
I applied online at the beginning of February for an internship beginning in May. Followed up at the start of March when I hadn't heard anything, and HR responded asking to coordinate a phone interview. First phone interview was with the assistant to the supervisor. One week later, scheduled a phone interview with the direct supervisor. HR called about another week later asking logistical questions about relocation, background check, and then offered me the position.

Question 1
- Can you tell me about a time you held a leadership position, and what was most challenging/rewarding about that role?
- How do you feel about working on a team? About tight deadlines? About working overtime?
- How comfortable are you handling confidential information? Information regarding sensitive employee issues?
- Lots of specific questions about experience on resume
Position found on LinkedIn and I was able to apply through my university. I was contacted within a week and told that they would like to see me for an interview. I interviewed on site. It went really well, the interviewer was extremely nice and it wasn't a scary experience at all.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NetApp in Apr 2010
Interview
I had a phone screen that was pretty straight forward. I was recommended by the recruiter and went in and met with 3 employees - 2 peers and the hiring manager. The interviews lasted about 45 minutes each. They explained the organization and the position, then asked me questions about by experience. Again it was pretty straight forward. I did not get an offer - not the right fit - they are very particular about this. I heard that others received the same feedback. Seems like a good co.
