I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at New Relic (Düsseldorf) in Aug 2024
Interview
The interview process began with a screening interview, followed by a session with the hiring manager, who asked questions related to my CV and past experience, covering both technical and client-facing aspects. I was then assigned a challenging task, requiring the preparation of a comprehensive document. This task involved hands-on practice, primarily focused on setting up an application in the cloud and using New Relic for observability and monitoring, along with answering several related questions.
Next, a technical round took place, where questions about New Relic agents, NRQL, and mock client scenarios were discussed. The final interview involved presenting a use case of my choice, demonstrating how I could support a client in the role of a Technical Success Manager (TSM).
Overall, the process was lengthy and seemed to blur the lines between pre-sales and post-sales roles. The rejection after completing multiple rounds, particularly at the final stage, suggests that the interview format may not have been optimally designed.
