      Human Resources Interview

      Jul 23, 2020
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at NewsBreak

      Interview

The process took about 1 week from resume submission to verbal offer. I went through a phone interview with the HR Director. I appreciate the transparency during the interview regarding the potential work, ambiguity & pressure, working time requirement, and the term of the role.

      Human Resources Interview

      Jul 22, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at NewsBreak (New York, NY)

      Interview

The company is quite disorganized even for a startup. Made it to the final round, and although I did enjoy all the team members I met, the companys handling afterwards is certainly memorable and not In a good way. I wrote a thank you email write away. No reply. Followed up 6 days later. Again, no reply. 2 days later, late in the evening a generic rejection. This is after a Zoom final onsite for 3 hours including a chief officer. I've always learned as a recruiter that candidates will always remember a bad candidate experience, and Particle Media/ News Break is definitely a perfect example of a company that doesn't put in the time or effort to treat candidates with respect or dignity. I've never wrote an interview before ON glassdoor but felt it was important to in this case. Especially during Covid19 times and all the anxiety and stress due to the changing times, I feel that good companies are going above and beyond to be kind and thoughtful to their candidates. Particle Media/ News Break did quite the opposite and I hope they learn from reading this review to treat candidates with more care and grace because candidates do remember the companies that didn't put in the time or effort to be thoughtful. I don't recommend interviewing or joining this company.

      Interview

Definitely a Chinese driven company culture, communication styles, and etiquette. Definitely ground up start up with no onboarding process place. Took weeks with no communication for updates and proceeding steps. Inflated titles given to employees with 5-6 years of experience as "Directors."
