      Journalist/Reporter Interview

      Mar 19, 2022
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Newsweek (New York, NY)

      Interview

Excessive number of interviews which took place over a ludicrous amount of time - many months. Some questions seemed unnecessary and there were many questions repeated for no apparent reason. Interviewers were largely detached from the realistic workings and environment of a newsroom. Editors I spoke to were not the people I'd be working for. Told me "not to take any notice" of negative Glassdoor reviews or negative articles about Newsweek - immediate red flag. I was foolish to take the job because most of the issues highlighted on Glassdoor came true for me. Please don't make the same mistake.

      Question 1
