      Sales Representative Interview

      Sep 26, 2012
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at NextRoll (San Francisco, CA) in Aug 2012

      Interview

A friend of mine submitted my resume on my behalf and I was contacted shortly after by an Intern who said they were impressed by my resume and wanted to do an initial phone screen. The phone screen was conducted by an internal member of the sales team and he asked some basic career background and my familiarity with Ad Optimization, shopping cart fallout and retargeting. I didn't give a whole lot of depth to each answer and the phone screen took about 25 minutes. Shortly after the phone screen, I was asked to come in for an on-site interview that would last 90 minutes. The on-site interview was with 3 different members of the sales team and lasted about 2 hours total. After the 3rd and final interview I was told that I would be contacted within a few days to let me know the next hiring steps. An email came about a week later and I was told that they wouldn't be moving forward with me as a candidate. When I asked the person for a more indepth response, she just said there were a number of qualified candidates and she didn't know anymore than that. The culture seemed very conducive to a start up environment, with no one having their own office, a ping pong table and everyone wearing casual dress. Everyone was friendly and it definitely seemed like a good environment where everyone seemed to be enjoying the people and the space around them.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at NextRoll (Dublin, Dublin) in Apr 2016

      Interview

The first two rounds of interviews are over the phone, all questions asked were expected and my interviewer was very personable. The first interview was mainly focused on my skills and what my understanding of the role was. The second round included a 'sales pitch' followed by a competency based interview. The sales pitch was very easy and I was given time to think through my answer before starting.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at NextRoll (New York, NY) in Apr 2016

      Interview

It was quick and easy. They were very transparent with the process up until the last bit in which I was not offered the position. The final step was quite nerve racking in regards to the google hangout that we set up. I had to meet with virtually all the executives of the company, making it significantly more strenuous than most interviews.

      Dublin, Dublin
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NextRoll (Dublin, Dublin) in Jan 2016

      Interview

First you receive a phone call from the company recruiter. He tells you a bit about the process and about the company. He asked some basic questions about the position and about my cv, if he approves you, you'll get to a second interview with the executive manager. I experienced this in a rather negative way: the conversations wasn't at all about the position, company or industry. He just picked one topic out of my cv and kept asking about that. Even when I tried to switch to more relevant subjects or personal experiences relevant regarding the position, we stayed on the same topic.

Could you tell me a little bit about the position? Who are our competitors? What problems are facing the industry?
