      Account Strategist Interview

      Jun 19, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at NextRoll in Jun 2015

      Interview

I was emailed by one of their recruiters the day after I applied. Within a few days I had a 15 minute phone call with the first person who reached out to me. We talked about my current position and why I want to work at AdRoll. Then he asked why in particular I wanted to work at the position I was applying for. After that he said everything seemed aligned and we'd be moving to the next stage of interviews. The following week I had a 30 minute phone interview with someone at the position I would be hired for. I thought it went really well, and I answered every question thoroughly. She even responded with "that's a good answer" for a few. The next day after my 30 minute interview I was called and told "the response wasn't strong enough and we will not be moving forward". A very vague reason. I inquired via email as to what was missing - but was told they didn't get any feedback. The overall experience was positive, and I'm glad they were able to tell me quickly they wouldn't want to move forward, but I wish they were a little more specific as to why they didn't want to offer me the position.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NextRoll (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

Applied online and was contacted by an assistant ~1 week later to set up phone interview. Phone interview consisted of a 15 minute conversation with basic questions making sure I was familiar with the company and had relevant experience. I was contacted the next day to set up an on-site interview (consisting of 3 interviewers). I live 6 hours away (by car) so it took some planning to get into the office. Finally in the office, I answered all of the questions strongly and felt it was a great fit - I was contacted the following day by the same assistant to come back into the office later that week for another round of interviews. When I expressed the difficulty of travelling (I was still in school...6 hours away) I was told to let them know "whenever you'll be in the city next." When I communicated that it wouldn't be for a month at least (due to time constraints with class and travel expenses on a student budget) and would prefer a Skype interview, the assistant explained they don't allow Skype interviews - odd for a tech company. She then stopped responding to my emails to finalize a date for the second on-site interview, despite a couple follow-up emails. Overall, the process was fast but rather unprofessional, especially the assistant's attitude and communication. Made me lose a lot of respect for what I thought was a great company.

      Question 1

-How would you explain retargeting to a five year old? -What do you see as AdRoll's biggest challenge in the coming year?

      Account Strategist Interview

      Jul 23, 2013
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at NextRoll in Apr 2013

      Interview

Initial phone screen was pretty standard - wanted to know about my past experience and why I was interested in this position. Next step was an onsite interview with 4 different people. Interview questions were pretty general and focused on my understanding of the product and my past job experiences. It seems they are primarily looking for people with direct experience in campaign management, so I was not offered the position. This is just my guess as they do not provide any feedback on your interview.
