For the last nearly two years they have approached me 5 times through various recruiters via consulting companies Accenture and Capgemini. The first time I passed the Japanese language and general skills test with the Accenture onsite rep and a client interview was scheduled.
When interviewing with the project manager who had jumped ship from Accenture to Nomura he started asking SQA knowledge questions. I assumed the position was a shoe-in so in response to his questions I explained how to develop a series of test cases considering the complication of the system he was building. I didn't realize he was just picking my brain to steal QA knowledge of which he had no background. They later told me I was not experienced enough and rejected my application.
Consequently, the same recruiter called me again 3 months later to interview again for the position again. The project was in trouble and this time they needed my help badly. I met him again and it was the same information shakedown. They rejected me again, but 6 mos they changed consultancies and this time I went through 4 interviews with QA specialists around the globe yet Nomura rejected me.
Again, 6 mos later, all the recruiters in Tokyo have the job spec for an urgent SQA manager. It seems the QA of the large scale project is not going well and he continues to do brain drain from any candidate that steps up.
