Applied online for summer internship sales and trading, sat the online tests which was the norm. Application was screened 2 weeks later, I was invited for a first round interview consisting of 2 interviews. The first interview we had to present a equity stock pitch to the interviewer followed by standard competency based interview question. The second interview was a walk through of you CV followed by a math question.
Was invited to the second round, again was more relaxed than other banks mixture of competency and technical questions on global macroeconomics as well as a few brain teasers.
First round - 15 min Technicals and around 15 min comptency based
Final round - consisted of a case study where you had to read a pitch deck and answer around 7 questions - gave us 1 hour. Then 4 interviews (one on the case study. All interviews consisted of a mix of technical and competency based questions
Typical Investment Banking Interview, have a brain teaser at the end. Nothing out of expectations. They put a lot of emphasis on common vibe so be chill and don't be too aggressive. They are not Goldmans.
I applied online. I interviewed at Nomura (New York, NY) in Oct 2024
Interview
Two sets of interviews: 1 first round, 3 back-to-back final rounds. All interviews were pretty laid back and not technically challenging. Definitely helpful to have a good understanding of the bank's focuses/strengths going in.
