I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Nordstrom
Interview
Fairly standard 30-minute phone interview. Questions were mainly focused on explaining my experience and skill set. Not many behavioral/cultural types of questions. I imagine these would be explored in later interview rounds.
I was told the recruiter would follow up with the team and let me know, but never heard back after that. This was a bit disappointing, especially for such an established company. A quick “thanks, but no thanks” email would improve the recruiting process for candidates.
UPDATE: I actually did hear back from the recruiter after a month. They mentioned they were just setting up next-round interviews and wanted to see if I was still interested. I was still on the market, so I said yes and gave my availability.
It's now 3+ weeks later, and I never got any further response. I understand things can happen internally to slow the recruiting process, but this was an unprofessional experience with a total lack of communication. If your teams aren't ready to hire, please don't string along your candidates.
This does not seem to be the norm based on other Nordstrom interviews, but this was definitely a negative experience.
