The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Nordstrom (Houston, TX) in Dec 2009
Interview
The interview was relatively painless. The manager I interviewed with was very nice and thorough and the group presentation was as well. But it was clear that everyone was a complete "Nordie"! I was looking for a part time position, but they only wanted full time. It also seemed as if the pay structure was good for retail, but after speaking with a family member that was a former Nordstrom's store manager- I felt the environment would not work for me. However, for someone interested in a retail career, Nordstrom seemed to be one of the better "big box" retailers to work for.

Question 1
Customer Service Experience with difficult personalities
So easy, I went to a job fair and was hired on the spot. They need people in the kids department, that's the easiest section to get into. They just ask about your personality and who you are.
Was inside Barton creek mall, hiring manager was prompt and clear with questions ranging from how I would handle difficult customers, to my personal experiences that could apply to the job.
