Recently interviewed here on site at the NYC flagship location on 57th & Broadway, (Wolf Restaurant) to be exact.
It felt ok at first while sitting there waiting my turn. Then I realized as other people were scheduled to interview as well that this seemed like a waste of time. I wasted my time coming to Midtown while the screening process could have been conducted via Zoom or phone call.
The interviewer led me to a back table in the far corner of the restaurant, and proceeded to bombard me with textbook style interview questions, which were read rapidly like a machine. It felt like this was super rushed, and my answers didn't even matter.
Overall, he was rushing this to the point where it seemed that they already had candidates to fill the role in mind.
At the end of the interview, he got up and just rushed me to the door extremely fast. I was told that they had more interviews to conduct, but the next day I was notified that they had chosen someone else for the position.
This could have been down via Zoom instead of wasting my time to have to go in person. It felt like I was being interviewed just to satisfy a requirement.
