      Retail Management Interview

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Nordstrom (Seattle, WA) in Feb 2014

      Interview

This job is best for former Nordstrom employees. I came into the interview process having worked for Nordstrom as a seasonal employee (Holiday & Summer) for the 3 prior summers. After submitting my application online, I got a call 2 weeks later to do a phone interview. Following a successful phone interview, I got a call to schedule a panel interview. The panel interview can be a bit intimidating to some. You sit at a small table across the room from 4-6 corporate and HR employees in a large conference room at the flagship store. My interview lasted about 25 minutes where each person grills you on basic stuff. After the panel, you are asked to do a mock sale with a top dog seller (mine was the head of personal styling at the flagship store). They have a rack of clothing set up and you have to do your best to make the biggest sale possible, while dealing with a difficult customer.
