I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Nordstrom (Houston, TX) in Jan 2016
Interview
The process took 3 months; I was applying from within the company (I was already a Sales Associate) and as soon as the holidays passed, I was notified that the position no longer exists due to budget cuts. They leveraged my experience, time and efforts, and I received no apology for my wasted time. I also did not receive other offers to grow within the company although I have been actively pursuing a career with them. I was expected to stay with the company until another position comes open, while holding Master's degree and bachelors in Apparel Merchandising. Very unprofessional.
Straight to the point if you have sales experience
Be open and honest about your love of fashion and make sure you are customer focused
Easy questions and some managers will make you answer all questions so be prepared for some lengthy questions that are repetitive
Promotion from Sales person. Interviewed with department manager and store manager. I needed my then current store managers approval as well. After the interview with the Nashville store manager, I was offered the role.
