I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Northeastern University (Boston, MA) in Apr 2009
Interview
I was an employee in the department, but in a different capacity. This was an internal referral that allowed to to move up in the organization. It went smoothly and was easy. Just had to jump through some hoops to make it all work. One problem was that I had to wait until my degree was actually conferred before I could get the position. As with all paperwork, this took some time.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me if I'd still feel the same about the university after I graduated? And what would probably change as I went from student to staff?

Interview
Complicated. I was brought back many times to meet different people, but was often asked the same questions. It got to the point where I felt I could just record one interview and send it in for the next.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Northeastern University (Boston, MA) in Jul 2023
Interview
Only one 30 minute Zoom interview before references were requested a couple days later. After that, it took nearly a month to get rejected. I assumed I wasn’t chosen after about a week of no response, but I still would have appreciated an answer. I also let them know I needed an answer within about two weeks because I was considering accepting a promotion at my current job, but they did not respond to that email. I am assuming that they asked several candidates for references instead of one or two finalists, which would be a waste many people’s time, including their own. I am disappointed in the lack of communication and respect for my time.

Interview
1 day (3) 30 min interviews. Great conversation with hiring manager and supervisor. Feedback was provided after the interview which was extremely helpful. I enjoyed the campus and lab tours. Highly recommend applying here.
