I applied online for the job online. The online application was pretty standard It took a few months to hear back from them - roughly around 4 months. This was due to them putting the role on hold due to Covid. I was then invited for a telephone interview, which I passed. I was asked questions on my experience and why I would make a good fit in the company. I also explained my lack of experience with certain tools but told this wasn't an issue. I was then invited for a face to face interview with the hiring manager and two senior managers. I was told this would be an hour interview. However, once I got to the interview I was informed there would also be an assessment with an apology for no prior notice. I was asked about my experience with previous tools again and I explained my experience and this didn't seem to go well with the senior staff. Also, was told the salary I told the recruiter I was looking for wasn't available by the interviewer. Also, one of the interviewers on the day of the interview rudely left half way into the interview due to needing to go to the shops. The assessment was fairly easy, but felt rushed. I asked one question during the assessment and managed to complete the task with one minor mistake. I just felt a general lack of professionalism and comfort during the interview. Never have I ever had an interviewer walk out midway through an interview before and I have reached a high number of interviews. The feedback I got was that I failed the assessment task and would not be offered the role.
