I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Leawood, KS) in Aug 2016
Interview
Phone interview at first, then you are asked to go in and talk to their recruitment person. If that goes well, you are then asked to come in for another interview. During that interview you are given a "task", that task being, contact 10 different people and ask them a set of questions they provide you about their financial plans, financial services, etc. but thats not it, you also try and get 10 people they know, so you can contact them as well. Once you leave this interview with your "task" you agreed upon, you are then timed and you are supposed to get your list of names and complete the questions as fast as possible because they encourage you to beat the previous record, they say it looks better for when you meet the manager. After you complete the task you are supposed to meet the manager to discuss further actions within the company. I did not personally want to do the task, so I didn't make it that far.

Question 1
Why do you think you would an asset to the company?
It was good, simple, and they provided a lot of information on what the position would look like. They explained the reasoning for commission-based pay, and how they help support new interns with that.
I had an interview with northwestern mutual but im seeing a lot of people say its just a pyramid scheme to cold call people in my network. is this true?
