I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Los Angeles, CA) in Mar 2017
Interview
Group interview, followed by a one-on-one with the campus recruiter, and then had to complete a "market research survey". Although it was a quick and easy process, the internship is more of a sales position than a financial position.
It was an easy interview for the most part. First a group session with other candidates learning about Northwestern Mutual, then a few days later, one on one interviews. Behavioral style questions nothing too difficult
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Cleveland, OH) in Jan 2016
Interview
The interview process was really easy, first a phone call to set up the first appointment. Then it is a one on one interview with one of the recruiters were she just wants to get to know you on a personal level, the second step of the interview process is a group interview were they explain a little bit more in detail what the job entails and what the position looks like for a full time employee. A project is given to you to see how you handle your own time management skills and to see if you really know enough people to get the job done. The last interview is a one on one with another financial advisor in which you will talk a little more in depth about your goals and what you are looking for after college, and that's it! in my opinion they are looking for personality more than anything else.
