I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Cincinnati, OH) in Mar 2019
Interview
I interviewed with the hiring manager after a phone interview. They were very professional, but they were not up front with the job description and blew smoke screens. The Job is simple, selling life insurance to people through your connections that YOU create. They word the job description to make the role more appealing. I found this out through reviews on the back pages of Glassdoor and talking to employees. Wish they would be up front about this, obviously this is a barrier to a lot of people who are getting started in this industry.
However, I think it would be a great entry level position to get started in this industry, and like everything else you have to work hard.
I was not offered a position after taking an assessment and they said "the company would not be a right fit" I don't know why a company would determine hiring an employee solely off of a personality assessment. Overall a really sketchy experience in which there was little transparency and the deciding hiring factor ended up being the results of a personality test....

The process was fairly long and seemed to be asking me for client information before I was ever offered the position. I felt like they were asking me to give them more information than I felt was necessary for the job.
