The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Myrtle Beach, SC) in Mar 2010
Interview
I learned about the position through a job fair held at my college the overall experience was a good one. The first meeting was a simple get to know you fact checking on their part and a brief description of the position. After completing two "personality" tests I was asked back again for a second meeting. This interview was a review of the test results and a sit down with the manager of the individual branch and a typical day to day was discussed (slightly repetitive from the first meet). I was then given a market research assignment where I was to practice cold calls on friends and their referals. From there a trip to the local regional branch was taken and then contract talks.

Question 1
How do you feel about working strictly on commission?
There were four or five interviews, if you count the meeting with my future mentor. There were also a few personality assessments. Lots of paperwork. The finance industry is tightly regulated.
The first interview was easygoing and went fairly well. We talked a little on myself and what northwestern was all about. Because they wanted to see how I could fit in to their team and what I would bring.

Interview
The process was smooth and straight forward. A lot of behavioral based questions, but relaxed and low stress. First phase is a phone screening followed by a teams or in person meeting.
