Recruiter call following by Hiring manager and then 4 separate interviews with team members.
I was interviewed for 2 remote positions and after the final rounds in both positions , i was told that the senior management has decided to make the position local.
After having a disheartening rejection first time, For the second position the recruiter called me assuring that they have approval to hire remote. The hiring manager was nice and the team was amazing , they really lived up-to the Glassdoor reviews and the values of the company. Suddenly at the offer stage, the head of digital products from NYC asked for a last minute interview on a Friday afternoon. It got scheduled the same day within 45 min. I was told that it would be a casual conversation while in reality he was trying to find flaws to reject me. I felt it was very unprofessional and unfair as I did not even get enough time to prepare for the interview.
Monday I got to know from recruiter that i didn’t
get the offer. Again i got rejected after being told the position was remote.
I have had very high expectations from Northwestern mutual and i disbelief what I have experienced. It was by far the worst candidate experience i have ever had.
Advice to management-
Please don’t post remote positions if you can’t hire remote. Please change your hiring process. If only the higher Authority has approval to hire please loop them at the beginning of interview process so the candidate won’t waste time.. I am very disappointed with the outcome since it happened twice within a span of 10 weeks . Thanks for wasting 2 months of my time.
