I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual in Nov 2014
Interview
Was a series of three step interviews. One super informal over the phone call which then lead to an in person interview. They gave you assignments after each one to see if you fit the job. The position is essentially sales even though they phrase it as "financial Representative" as you essentially have to sell insurance to your market aka family and friends. Wasn't for me, but seemed like a good way to get into sales and insurance.
It was a quick setup to get the first interview. Then there are two more interviews that took longer to set up and extended the hiring process. They are very nice though.
