The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual in Mar 2010
Interview
I applying for the intern financial representative position. Started with a lot of phone tag to see what your phone voice is like and to see if you could continue following up with people. This was then followed by an easy interview with the HR lady who liked me and set up an interview with the College Unit Director. The CUD liked me so an interview was set up with the managing partner. At the interview with the managing partner i had to make a presentation, After some q & a i was offered the internship and i accepted. Overall they are looking to see if you know wealth people you can sell there products to. If you know wealthy people..... you can get the job. I have heard that in some places they won't interview you if you have the wrong zip code. overall i had the right background, but after the summer i decided not pursue this as a career.

Question 1
tell me about yourself? or something along those lines.
There were four or five interviews, if you count the meeting with my future mentor. There were also a few personality assessments. Lots of paperwork. The finance industry is tightly regulated.
The first interview was easygoing and went fairly well. We talked a little on myself and what northwestern was all about. Because they wanted to see how I could fit in to their team and what I would bring.
I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Greenville, SC)
Interview
The process was smooth and straight forward. A lot of behavioral based questions, but relaxed and low stress. First phase is a phone screening followed by a teams or in person meeting.
