We briefly spoke on the telephone to ascertain whether it would make sense for me to come in for an interview. They liked the fact that I went to Northwestern, but the job itself paid a lot less than I expected for this type of job. Northwestern does have good benefits, but the value of the benefits was not enough to offset the salary differential from the market.
