I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Ocado Group in Jul 2018
Interview
1. Online Code test
2. Video Interview (casual chit-chat, brief introductions, some software design questions)
3. Onsite-interview (8-9 hours) consists of logic test (solving questions with a made up assembly-style language), behaviour interview, java code test, general software design interview, a warehouse tour
Pros:
- Extremely friendly and relaxed interviewers
- Easy interview/coding questions
- free lunch/unlimited snacks during the onsite interview
- encouraged to use their nice and clean bathrooms
Cons:
- 8-9 hours onsite interview is way too long...a lot of the questions can be done off-site/online
- Similar questions were repeated in multiple interview sessions
- Was told there is a lot of code debt in the company
- Despite asking multiple times their tech stack, no actual answers were given.
- Offered salary is low considered its close proximity to London (if you get an offer from Ocado, you are likely to get a better offer in central London)
