I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Ocado Group (Hatfield) in Sep 2014
Interview
I applied through a recruiting agency. The selection process starts with an online programming test via Codility. The test is made up of three tasks to be completed in one sitting. The tasks are not really hard, but you have to meet requirements about time and space complexity.
I passed the online test and was invited to their assessment centre. Two paper-based tests needed to be passed: an aptitude test and a java based test.
The aptitude test is not centered on any particular language. Some basic functions area provided to be used to implement more complex functions. In the Java based test, candidates are required to complete the implementation of a linked list. Both tests are not very hard, but be careful about edge cases.
I passed the paper based tests and got on a tour to their warehouse.
After the tour I had an interview with two team leaders. It was a technical interview covering knowledge of Java. I was also asked to write code on the whiteboard (needle in the haystack problem).
The technical interview was followed by an interview with the Head of IT. It was an interview based on my CV and were I talked about myself and I could make questions about the job and the company.

Smooth process. Multiple rounds including coding, pair programming and behavioral and nice interview. The questions were good if you practice, pair programming is extensive. The last round is with behaviour
