I was contacted one day after applying for the job. The recruiter spent a lot of time in the screen call going over my most recent contract role. Since the role was 2-3 months long, he seemed skeptical and questioned if I really did it. This rubbed me the wrong way because my resume provides a level of detail that simply cannot be made up. My resume is very clear about what I did. He wanted to be nice about the process, so he told me not to take the automated rejection personally because he had already reached out to 20 people about the position. He said management cared more about customer service than technical skills, but I believe that's an excuse to provide a low wage for the title and all the responsibilities under the role. I know my skill set and it goes beyond a short-term contract.
