      Business Analyst Interview

      Feb 23, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Onit

      Interview

Took about three weeks from the time I applied to be offered a phone screen. The recruiter was very flexible in terms of meeting times and very knowledgeable about the companies offerings. I pushed back when I was asked my current salary. I believe in being paid what my skill set is worth. My current salary should not play a factor in my worth. I was also informed that the role is not a 40 hour a week job. Unsure how many hours over 40 analysts work, but I did not get the vibe that a work life balance was going to happen here.

Dear Candidate, Thank you for providing feedback on the interview you had with Onit. The question in relation to salary is that we have an internal budget that we target, and our goal is to ensure that the candidates we are hiring will be within the range. If the candidate’s expectations are higher than our internal ranges, then we are open and transparent as it relates to possibility of what a candidate may earn in the role. In relation to the question of the role not being a 40-hour work week, that is due to the fact that Onit is experience tremendous amount of growth and there are more projects heading in faster than what we can hire staff to support the projects at times. Hence the transparency to the candidate that the role may require more than the normal 40-hour work week. However, we have been able to add additional new hires in the organization to help balance the workload across the team. Thank you for taking time to speak with us. Your feedback is helpful and will help us improve our overall candidate experience moving forward. Regards, Carlos DeLeon Onit

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Onit in Jan 2022

      Interview

I went through numerous interviews spanning multiple days and found the company had no sense of organization. At one point they invited me in for an 8am interview. After arriving they then informed me it would be 4 separate interviews going till noon. If they don’t have respect for interviewees time I’m worried for employees. Other red flags is they bragged on food snacks in office, work hard/play hard environment, and a strong family dynamic. These may seem to good some but give the subtle hint of overworking employees and poor work environment. I ultimately did not move forward to even more interviews they wanted.

They gave me a laptop and asked to work through excel spreadsheets on a Mac.
