Oracle Health. Applied late April. Entire process took about a month and a half. All interviews were virtual/video.
Was first contacted by a recruiter about 2 weeks after applying, they set up a video interview (they even require you to upload an image of yourself for some reason) just to go over incredibly basic screener questions that could have been a standard phonecall. This went well and I was invited for a technical screener a day later which was scheduled for the following week.
Technical screener went well, it was a very basic coding questions (you really just needed to know how "if-else" loops worked to solve it). Interviewer was very friendly and it was a good chat. He told me to look out for the next interview invite which I received the following day.
The recruiter reached out to me again and this time it was for the "final" loop interview, which was to consist of 5 separate interviews. They first ask for days you're available but its pretty difficult to schedule around a normal work schedule with 5 one hour interviews spread over a week (at this point I had already taken an entire day of PTO for this process). Their initial schedule split 5 interviews across 2 weekdays but I opted to move it to the following week so that I could do all 5 in one day as to not interupt my current job too much.
The 1st loop interview was a systems interview, after a brief intro about Oracle Health there was almost no questions directed at me or my resume. Most of the time slot was dedicated to a single question (visually map out a system that takes client info, sends it to the company's servers and saves it in a database where it can be retrieved by another customer). I really didn't have any background in designing systems like these but I think I did okay.
2nd interview was coding. The problem was to design an LRU cache but there was a lot of emphasis that they didn't need it to be functional and seemed to care more about the thinking/planning element of it. I put together mostly some pseudo code and explained my thought process, interviewer was pretty pushy and seemed to almost get upset at times while I was describing how it would work, not sure if that was just him or if he was trying to see how one would work under pressure. I managed to keep my cool and clear up the confusion and he seemed satisfied with my solution.
(These last two were back-to-back in the morning, I then had an hour break)
The 3rd interview was coding, again. This time it was a hard Leetcode problem (1186: "Maximum Subarray Sum with One Deletion"). I'm not great with Leetcode and especially not hard ones so I did pretty bad on this one. The interviewer seemed pretty disappointed that I wasn't able to solve it but I at least talked through my thinking and where I was having difficulty. He tried to help a bit at the end but then we ran out of time so I wasn't even able to ask him any questions. Definitely my worst interview of the 7.
(I then had another hour break)
The 4th interview was by far the easiest, just a standard behavioral interview so no surprises. (Asked about working with difficult people, making difficult decisions, etc). For the first time that day I actually got a chance to actually ask some of my own questions.
The 5th loop interview was with a director and was a bit of a mix of easy coding, behavioral, and general chatting. He first had me do fizzbuzz which I did successfully (although my brain was fried by this point after 4 other interviews and I did mess up one thing that he caught and I fixed). This interview was a bit odd as he was very casual about it, while I was answering his questions he got up, walked to his kitchen and started snacking. I had to repeat myself at times because he was distracted and this continued through most of the interview. Still a good interview overall and he was friendly.
About 5 days later they reached out to me without an offer. I asked if they could provide any feedback and they said it was against their policy.
All in all this was an exhausting and grueling process, with 7 interviews total which required me taking 2 days of PTO spread over multiple days. While I understood their decision, I was disappointed that they couldn't even provide any feedback given the amount of time and effort they require candidates to give.
