I applied in-person. I interviewed at Original Pancake House (Orange, CA) in Apr 2017
Interview
I went to obtain an application on a Friday morning around 9 am. The restaurant was quite busy however the hostess made sure to take her time giving instructions on when to return, who to speak to and the best time to turn in the application. I returned the completed application on Wednesday afternoon and was called the next day for an interview which we set up for Friday morning. I arrived about 15 min early for good measure. I was greeted warmly by the hostess again however this employee showed the same warmth and humility that I was familiar with from my last visit. I was sat in the banquet dining room and asked to wait for the GM. At the same time I walked in the Friday morning rush had just started and everyone was very calm and busy yet no one seemed panicked or out of order. I was offered coffee/tea and I accepted. My interview was about 15 minutes with the GM who was warm, honest and professional all around. I was asked to have a second interview right on the spot so I obliged. The manager was respectful and calm when he inquired about my skills taking care not to repeat or over complicate the interview. This second interview was approximately 10 minutes and within minutes I had an offer and training schedule which started the following Tuesday.
Scheduled a time with the on duty manager to come back and speak with the general manager. At interview, had a nice sit down conversation with the general manager and scheduling manager.

Question 1
Availability to work, in accordance with their needs
Kept me waiting for a while after the interview was supposed to start. Offered me the job on the spot, but only offered minimum serving wage. No tips during training period.
I met with the manager of my local Original Pancake House after their lunch rush. The managers and staff were extremely welcoming. They explained what the job would be like and what the training would include.
