I applied online and was contacted by a recruiter shortly after. I went through three rounds of interviews with them, including two phone screens and a presentation- the people I spoke to were lovely, and I was really excited about the prospect of this role. However, the interview process felt clunky and a little disorganized. The first two phone screens felt like the exact same interview, as the recruiter and hiring manager asked the same questions- that being said, the questions asked during the phone screens were straightforward and standard for a position of this nature. Afterward, I was asked to present the interface I had been working with- I wasn't informed who I would be presenting the interface to, and received vague guidelines on what the expectations would be, including "audience engagement" and "ability to sway a decisionmaker/executive," but "this is not a sales pitch – this is a chance to present to and influence a key stake holder on your product’s value in the post sale," but the questions asked by the team during the presentation felt like it was a sales pitch. Additionally, I felt like this put me at a slight disadvantage because instead of being able to learn and present, for example, the Outreach interface and how I would demonstrate this to clients, I had to obfuscate a large portion of the interface I work with as it contained proprietary information, and I believe this factor detracted from the quality of my ability to present. Personally, I didn't feel like this stage is designed to place each candidate at a level playing field (as some interfaces are not proprietary and can be demonstrated to external parties without issue) and it felt like I was being leveraged for a sales pitch. After my presentation, I was then told I would hear back 'very soon' by the team who interviewed me, but after a full week of waiting, I reached out to the recruiter reiterating my interest in the position and asking if there were any updates. After reaching out, I finally heard back from Outreach, informing me they had selected another candidate. I had read the interview reviews here previously, and hoped the timeline in which they responded to candidates had improved since those were posted, but I stand corrected- truthfully, I'm very disappointed in how this process transpired because I had very high hopes for Outreach and working with the Outreach team.
