I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Outreach
Interview
Outreach required 4 separate interviews.
1) Phone Screen with Recruiter (20 minutes)
2) Discussion with Hiring Manager (30 minutes)
3) Group product demo (45 minutes)
4) All Day Interview "Loop" (5 hours)
Including the time I spent preparing for each stage, I spent nearly 10 hours interviewing at Outreach.
In the end, I received a generic email from the recruiter explaining that someone else was a better fit. No other reasoning was provided beyond that.
First there was a phone screen and they were very nice. They had a lot to say about the direction of the company and the culture.
The 2nd interview was 30 minutes, but the person interviewing me had only been at Outreach for around 8 weeks. He didn't seem to know what his plans were for the team, product, or strategy and seemed he was just going through the motions. They want people in the office 3 days a week, even though no potential colleagues or leaders from my group are located in the same city as I was. It didn't make a whole lot of sense.
After that, 2 weeks went by so I was ghosted it seemed. I sent a quick email thanking them for their time. They replied saying the role is pushed out to later this year, but they are also looking at other candidates that applied. Based on GD reviews and the recent layoffs they had yet again, it seems I dodged a bullet by not progressing in the process.
