      Program Associate Interview

      Jun 19, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at PCORI in Dec 2014

      Interview

I applied online in late November and was contacted within a few days to schedule an in-person interview. In early December I met with other program associates, program officers, and higher level managers as well as a recruiter. I was there for several hours. I felt that things went well. They told me they were interviewing other candidates and that I should hear back from them in a few weeks. I sent follow up thank you emails to each person and received additional positive feedback. Several weeks went by, however and I heard nothing. I chalked it up the holidays and then in mid-January I emailed the hiring manager again just asking if I was still being considered. The person responded very quickly and said that yes, the holidays had slowed down the interview process, but yes I was still being considered and I should know something in another week or two. And then nothing. I ended up applying for and accepting another offer. 6 months later I still don't know what happened. No one from HR or the interviewing team ever got back to me. Just a quick "unfortunately, we had many qualified candidates apply and we are sorry to inform you that we selected someone else" email would have been nice. I spent about 4-hours interviewing with them and this is a place where everyone has higher level degrees, so I don't think my expectations for a response are unrealistic.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at PCORI in Jun 2025

      Interview

Extremely lengthy experience. Interviewed with the recruiter for 15 min, 2nd interview with hiring manager for 30 min followed by an assignment, 3rd panel interview for 2 hours with 8 people followed by another assignment. Didn't hear back for 4 weeks following the last interview. I followed up multiple times with the recruiter and was ultimately denied. Had I not continuously followed up I'm not sure I would have heard back.
