Very different from anything I have ever experienced. Felt like an interview at some government agency. There was no sense of urgency, no excitement, no ambition. Felt like a chore to them.
This is what one exchange went like to give you a sense of what I had to deal with.
Me: Why did your previous COO leave to join a competitor?
A: He did not join a competitor.
Me: From what I understand, he joined Citadel Securities which is one of the largest equity options liquidity provider. Capman does something similar does it not?
A: From that perspective, yes they are a competitor.
Me: Can you tell me why he would leave?
A: You have to ask him.
Me: I don’t know him and want to understand if there was a systemic reason for his departure.
A: There was nothing systemic. He left because they pay a lot more money and he had been here a long time. And we are out of time.
And they never got back to me even to thank me for my time and reject me and wish me luck in my job search. Every other professionally run firm would do that. They did not and that was just plain rude.
