I was referred to Peak6 from a current employee and I was genuinely so excited about an opportunity to interview and work with the company.
First phone screen happened in a few days followed up by a Zoom interview with a hiring manager.
Hiring manager claimed to have liked my background and was going to get back to me as soon as possible with next steps.
About a week goes by and I didnt receive a follow up. I followed up with an email. One week later (no response) I told my internal reference who requested an update and I got an immediate phone call saying they would get back to me by end of day.
By end of day no response from HR, I received a vague response the next morning stating that they were passing me along to a different recruiter. I asked direct follow up questions.
Again, no response, had to follow up yet again. Just received a call from HR stating essentially the hiring manager isnt ready to fill the position, they understand this is frustrating but their hands are tied.
I never post interview reviews, but in this case I have to note to Peak6. If you want to make a good first impression on a qualified and passionate internally referred candidate, I would recommend a formalized process. This was a frustrating and misguiding few weeks. Peak6 was an opportunity I was so excited about but now it looks like I dodge a bullet if communication is this spotty.
