I applied for another position 4 months ago, and never heard anything. About two months ago, I got a call from the PG&E recruiter. She told me that she had heard from the hiring manager, who had reviewed my resume. She asked me to come in for an interview. I met with two people: one asked questions, the other wrote down answers. I know there is a firm processs, but this team didn't really follow it. We had a good conversation. They said they were interviewing 7 people and would get back to me the following week. Late the following week, an HR coordinator called and asked me to come in for a second interview for a different position (Senior Sourcing Specialist). I told her I hadn't applied for that, nor was it posted on the website. She gave me the job # and told me it would be posted shortly. She arranged for me to come in the following day. I arrived, not completely sure which job I was interviewing for, but I met with the rest of the team. Turns out they thought it was a second interview for the job I hadn't applied for. I called the hiring manager and she said they were changing the plan, and they wanted me for this position instead. The next day, the hiring manager called and said they wanted to offer me the job. I told them it wasn't posted yet, and she said as soon as it posted to send in my resume. It took an entire week for the job to post (internal problems apparently). I applied the day it posted, and the day after it closed, HR called with the offer.
