The recruiter communication throughout the process was professional and timely. I had a discussion with the hiring manager regarding my background and previous experience. However, the interview focused mostly on general experience and work management rather than technical aspects of mechanical design. After the discussion, I was informed that the team decided not to proceed with my candidacy because they felt other candidates were a better fit for the team’s current needs. While I appreciate the prompt communication from the recruiter, it would be helpful if the interview process included more technical discussion to better evaluate candidates’ mechanical engineering skills and provide clearer expectations. Overall, the process was professional, but the evaluation criteria could be more transparent.
