I had a disappointing interview experience with the TA Manager.
Prior to the interview, I received two separate interview invitations with different timings, which created unnecessary confusion and reflected a lack of coordination in the process.
During the interview, I was asked to describe my experience in commercial finance. I explained my FP&A exposure, which is clearly stated in my resume. However, the interviewer then reviewed my past employment history during the session and concluded that I did not have direct commercial finance experience.
This was surprising, as my resume had already been provided in advance. If direct commercial finance experience was a strict requirement, it should have been assessed during the screening stage before scheduling the interview. Raising this only during the interview gave the impression that my profile had not been thoroughly reviewed beforehand.
Overall, the process felt poorly aligned and somewhat unstructured. Better preparation and clearer screening would improve the candidate experience significantly.
