First spoke with a recruiter on the phone. It seemed like my application was pulled based off key words because I never applied to the position, but after the recruiter I then spoke with the director on zoom. They made it seem like they picked me for all good reasons (like hand picked personally) and really wanted me on board so they sent me through three more rounds of zoom interviews. One with a Senior Privacy Analyst, one with an IT Director and one with the Manager of Application Security. Everything went well and the Senior Privacy Analyst even said they wanted to mentor me and was excited for me to join. After all of this, they sent me an automated rejection email. It was cruel to send me through all of that just to send a pre written rejection, especially after saying to my face how much they wanted me on the team. Don’t hand pick someone and make them think they’re getting a job in this economy like that, then reject them in such an impersonal way.
