I had a screening with HR. It went very well. I was asked some textbook interview questions and some more in-depth questions. I was told I should hear back soon with next steps. Probably a week later I was told I would interview with the VP of the department. I had the interview with the VP. The interview went well. Very conversational. I felt at ease and I thought I had articulated my experience and desire to work for the company. I was told at the the end of my interview to expect an email for a project proposal to complete. I waited a few days and finally got the "proposal test" It was very easy. I wasn't told a deadline, so I submitted the proposal three days after the request. I didn't hear back from the VP; therefore, I sent an email confirming she received my proposal. She replied immediately that she had. She thanked me for the proposal and my quick turnaround and then told me she is still interviewing candidates and will know more in a couple of weeks. From the email, it sounded like I was getting the brush off, but I thought I might have been reading too much into the email. Well, I wasn't. A couple of weeks, turned into a month and no word. I guess my proposal wasn't what the VP was looking for. Yet, I would have liked an email, closing the deal.
