Online Mettle test with video recording through the webcam. On-site round in their office on Saturday, after a few weeks. I asked for the interviewers' profiles but that was not provided to me in advance. The interviewers (two of them) did not introduce themselves, their profile, and their work very well. I was suspicious of their suitability to conduct the first round, which was a technical interview primarily based on the projects and details mentioned in my profile as well as other questions related to SQL, Python, system design, etc. One interviewer asked me about things not mentioned in my resume at all several times, which I felt was irrelevant and reflected poorly on his knowledge. Like if I knew GraphQL, if I knew about Tiller (an outdated companion of Helm that I had never heard of), the difference between Ansible and Terraform, etc. The other one was more focused on SQL, Spark, and programming questions. Asked me to write a few SQL queries on paper, as well as Python code for one question. Then wouldn't be convinced that the query will work, which in my understanding was right and would work. I think I made an error in the Python programming question, which was simple but can't be called anything more than silly when you are writing code on paper. I was astonished by their level of under-preparedness and asking stupid questions about obsolete or their outdated tech-stack using Spark.
