      Software Engineer Interview

      Feb 7, 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Persistent Systems

      Interview

An online computer based test was conducted which had questions from Aptitude and pretty much every subject of your engineering, like OS, Networks, DBMS, Unix, C programming outputs. Other than this there was a coding question like removing comments from a C code or removing white spaces from a text file or creating a structure for library to add/remove books from it. In the end there was an writing question in which a topic was given and we had to write around 200 words on it in 20 minutes. Topic can be something like A perfect vacation. If you pass through this written exam then you’re called for the interview. It was a 3 steps interview in which first two were technical interviews and the last one was HR. Technical interviews were hard and HR was nothing more than a formality. There was hardly anyone who got rejected from HR interview. But Technical interviews were hard and most of the candidates got rejected in the 1st technical interview only. Technical interviews were on average 30 mins each. There were questions from your resume and some coding questions which we had to solve on the paper. Coding question could be anything from a simple output or a structure or class inheritance. Other questions from subjects like OS, Networks, DBMS, Automata ( sounds crazy right? ), and some of the candidates were asked some microprocessor related questions as well.
