I had casually applied but got shortlisted. The first round was the aptitude one + 2 coding questions. Fairly easy CS questions related to OS, DBMS, DSA, etc. Moved to the second round with some basic technical questions and another coding question which had to be solved in front of the interview. The next round was another technical one but we just discussed my work and achievements. The final was HR. I was not going to be able to work for more than 6-7 months because I have to go for higher studies. The previous interviewers had told me that my chances were slim for this one reason but they left it upto HR to decide, which I think was fair enough. Surprisingly, the HR seemed very optimistic about hiring me and asked when I can join. Even told me that when I can/should submit my resignation. This was extremely surprising as I had was expecting a rejection or by some miracle, an internship. But after getting my hopes up, they ended up rejecting. They did not even have the courtesy to inform me despite having gone through their 4-step hiring process. I personally messaged the HR executive and asked about the progress on my offer, only to be told that after needlessly getting my hopes up, senior management doesn't wish to proceed because of my short tenure.
