I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at PetSmart (Meriden, CT) in Jun 2016
Interview
The interview was very informal and not difficult. They asked the typical question for a retail establishment. The first interview was with the assistant manager and the second interview was with the store manager. I applied online over a month earlier and was offered a few different positions that they felt I would potentially be interested in. Both interviewers were personable and easy to talk to.

Question 1
Describe and interaction with a disgruntled customer from previous experience.
I applied for a number of years through high school. I did not get a call until I attended National Hiring Day. I was able to speak to managers directly. I was a nutritional advocate with a pet food company before within Petsmart for about 6 months. Manager got to know me that way. I got a job offer from 2 locations following the interview day. Accepted 1 and now have trained all sales employees cash that currently work there. I’ve been there for almost 10 years now. It wasn’t easy for me to get an interview. But it was worth the wait in the long run.
Short and to the point in terms of how you handle situations and customers. Offer guidance in what they are looking for. Prior experience is not necessary but will always help.
It was a pretty retail interview experience. They talked about what working with pets and animals would be like and how to handle that, and also just things about retail in general.
