I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at PetSmart in Oct 2019
Interview
- came in for first interview, which took place in a messy office with other people in the room.
- was asked back for second interview next day which I expected. the next day they decided to go ahead and offer the job, which at the time I accepted.
- during my first interview the manager told me bathers make $12-$13/hr but when I was offered my job I was told I couldn’t be paid more than $10/hr. this was the first red flag
- I was told after I accepted my background check would be processed and I would most likely be able to start next week. a week and half went by and I had heard nothing. I then called the store to check about which they responded that they didn’t know what was going on, that mine background check was pending. days later I received an email saying there was a problem with my background check and I needed to send in a image on social security card. once I sent this in it too almost another week. I finally received a email that my background check came back pass almost 3 weeks after the job offer. after this the store did not even contact me to get started with orientation. the whole process was handled very unprofessionally. a background check should NOT take 3 WEEKS!! during this time I went and got a different job because it’s just not realistic to be waiting that long when I have bills to pay. very disappointing
canceled my interview same day, after making a huge deal about when it would be. they called me 20 minutes before I was supposed to be there to tell me nevermind.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at PetSmart (Santee, CA) in Nov 2021
Interview
Good starting pay $15.25, but its normally $15. Wanted to be a stocker, but was convinced to work as a bather being told I could get full time. Lies! I was not told I was going to be starting out as part time and that id be having to wait months at a time to become a groomer, which is a 2 year contract. Only then your full time. This would be fairly okay, if I didn't have my hours cut so much after the holidays. Thats why they wanted me in the salon in the first place.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at PetSmart (New York, NY) in Feb 2020
Interview
My first interview was with the assistant manager. He has a great personality. Felt welcomed right away. I have a 2nd interview monday with the store manager. The store manager called me and said I basically have the job, he is just required to do a customer service interview.
