Interview
I was working as a team lead for another store. I heard about an assistant manager position that was available and decided to look into it. I called the store manager and she talked with the district manager. She had done several interviews before but decided to give me one, as well. She was looking for someone with a lot more experience in management, she decided to hire someone outside of the company. She had made her decision before interviewing me but the district manager wanted her to interview me so she did. The questions weren't hard, they were situation based and if I had experience dealing with different associates. She wasn't very interested in the fact that I knew a lot of the reports, she wanted to know how much experience I had dealing with people.

Interview
Filled out application online, then got a call the next day, and got hired on the spot. They didn't really ask any questions, just explained what the job entailed. I asked if they needed any information for background check, or references and they said no which should of been a red flag to how desperate they were.

I met with the store manager for the interview. Prompt with interview time and gave the opportunity to explain my background and how I would be valuable to the position. Talked about the objectives that I would be managing and the daily tasks responsible for. The conversation was very transparent and I felt confident in knowing what to expect and how long the onboarding and training period would be.
