I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Petco
Interview
You have to apply online. For me there were two interviews, both one on one. one with the assistant manager and one with the manager. Since they also wanted someone who was specifically knowledgeable with fish, they asked me some simple aquatic questions as well. Very easy general questions asked over all.

Question 1
For me, they were not difficult at all since I have years of experience with aquatics, but to a general person, it would be difficult and unexpected for sure. Some were:
"name the three stages of filtration"
"explain the nitrogen cycle"
"name three live bearers"
"name 4 species of tetras"
"whats a hydrometer"
"if someone had a 15 gallon fish tank, how would you advise which fish for them to choose?"
so if the position is for a specific section, in my example being a marine specialist position, research is needed
This started as an open group interview, that then moved to individual interviews. The group process happened in the front of the store, with the individual process moving to the office. Overall quick and painless.
It was pretty easy. The interviewer asks questions provided by Petco. My interview was short as the interviewer wanted it to go quick, but I don't believe this is the norm. Many questions are related to having a previous job.

Question 1
Are there any animals you are uncomfortable handling?
It was easy just talk about how you are with animas. I had experience so I just talked about that and they were very happy to hear about it. So don’t worry
