I applied online. I interviewed at Petco in Jan 2014
Interview
I applied online for a part-time position and was contacted via phone about a week later to set up an interview. I went to the interview the next day and it was very pleasant/laid back. Essentially the assistant manager who interviewed me just asked about my plans in school (I'm a college student) and what types of pets I have. She then described the job, and it was a very open, easy conversation (I felt comfortable asking questions while she spoke). The job seems pretty good and the employees I ran into seemed pretty chill. The starting pay was more than I was hoping for so that was a plus.

Question 1
Nothing really came up unexpected, or was difficult
Straight forward and not difficult. It's just a standard retail interview, no curveballs, no trick questions. Just practice a little beforehand and it'll go smoothly. Make sure to ask questions of your own at the end.

Question 1
Do you have experience handling customers during a rush?
It was a basic sales job interview. Basically they want to know you are a hard worker and kind to animals. I don't think they really care as long as you are willing to work hard.
The interview process is very easy. They are not too picky, they just want to make sure that you will work and can comprehend the simple parts of the job. And that you are okay with small animals.
