I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Petco
Interview
I first applied in February. I didn't hear back from them until August, when they called me for an interview. I was interviewed by the general and assistant managers. It was more of a conversation in their office than a formal interview. They asked about my experience with a register, animals, and retail. I asked about the company culture and values, daily tasks and employer expectations, and told them that I was reliable, and included examples to back up my claims.
They seemed to really like me and were very warm and polite. They offered me the job on the spot
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked about how I would react to difficult or tense situations with animals and customers.
This started as an open group interview, that then moved to individual interviews. The group process happened in the front of the store, with the individual process moving to the office. Overall quick and painless.
It was pretty easy. The interviewer asks questions provided by Petco. My interview was short as the interviewer wanted it to go quick, but I don't believe this is the norm. Many questions are related to having a previous job.

Question 1
Are there any animals you are uncomfortable handling?
It was easy just talk about how you are with animas. I had experience so I just talked about that and they were very happy to hear about it. So don’t worry
